Dasher Christmas Card Class – Full

Thank you for the overwhelming interest shown in this class.  All available positions in this class have now been filled.  I will post photo’s of all 4 cards after completion of the class.

Start them Young

Here is our Little Miss 3 using punches, cardstock and packing paper for her craft project…. or as she likes to call it her “Art” project.

I save the paper that my Stampin Up orders are packed in for the children to draw on, paint on, paste with,  use as a road for their cars, or whatever their little imaginations want to use it for.

Using retired cardstock I punched out a bunch of hearts and birds and let the masterpiece unfold.

Children are never too young to start being creative.

More than Cards and Scrapbook Pages

Stampin’ Up! products are so versatile and while the coordinating product makes beautiful cards and scrapbook pages, if you let your imagination go, the possibilities are endless.

Using a canvas, ink, a brayer, ribbon, brads and a staple gun I created a hair accessory organiser for our daughter.  The only items that were not from Stampin’ Up! were the canvas, staples and pink hinged ring (to hold the hair ties).

Using an 8 x 8 Canvas and my Pink Pirrouette Inkpad and Brayer I covered the canvas in ink to achieve a subtle almost white washed effect.  I then used So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo and Ice Cream Parlour ribbons’ to achieve the top and bottom borders.  Securing each piece of ribbon to the back of the canvas with staples.  To hold the hairclips in place I have used Melon Mambo Polka Dot and Icecream Parlour Ribbons secured top and bottom with Rhinestone Brads.  To hold the hair ties I have used Certainly Celery Ribbon, looped through a pink hinged ring (so that it open to slip the hair ties on) and secured at the top with a Rhinestone Brad.

Little Miss 3 thinks it is lovely and we no longer loose as many hairclips as we once did.

Turning One

Our little man turned 1 last week.  Hard to believe but it is so.  I could hardly let him celebrate his Birthday without a handmade card.  As I had gone to the effort of making an Elmo cake, then it was only fitting that he received and Elmo Birthday card. A very simple design, fitting in with “Elmo” Theme.

While I was at it I decided to make another card using “Choo Choo”.   Originally I thought I would make this card for Master 1, however decided as his cake was an Elmo cake then his card should also be an Elmo card.  I might use Choo Choo for his 2nd Birthday as I found some great silicone cake molds in the shape of a train engine and carriages (post birthday).

Birthday Wishes

We all need Birthday Cards especially bright and cheery cards.  The following cards were created with the same colour scheme of Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red (all from the Brights Collection) along with Whisper White.  They also include the greeting from the very versatile stamp set “So Happy for you” (from 2011 Sale-a-bration).  The heart is from “I {heart} Hearts” stamp set and the Balloon from the  “Party this way” stamp set.    The card itself has been created using the Big Shot Square Scallop Die.

** All stampsets  and accessories (with the exception of the Sale-a-bration Set) are available in the current Stampin Up Idea’s Book & Catalogue  (IBC) refer links for access to the complete IBC.

Strength & Hope

Available unitl July 31 ( in the current Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue), the “Strength & Hope” Stamp Set provides inspiration for many of us.  We all know or know of someone who has been touched by breast cancer.   In the past two years, both my mother and mother in-law have both been treated for breast cancer.  Mum’s Breast Cancer journey can be seen here : http://www.ballaratpinkphoenix.org.au/profiles/maureen_dunlop.html

This is truly a lovely stamp set with endless possibilities.  The elements can be used together to create a wonderful inspirational card or scrap page or independently. It is both a beautiful and elegant stamp set and for many reasons it is one I will reach for often.

The card below has been created using:  Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake & Very Vanilla card stock.  Pink Pirouette & Crumb Cake Inkpads and the Scallop Square Punch.  A single Rhinestone has also been used

**$2 from the sale of every Strength & Hope Stamp Set will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by Stampin’ Up!. **

Celebrations – Designer Series Paper

I am loving the “Celebrations” DSP.  The coordinating colour scheme of Pear Pizzaz, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point and Real Red makes it easy to create bright, fun scrapbook pages (and cards) with little effort.  Each of the pages below uses the same colour scheme although they are all unique.  I am having so much fun with this DSP, I have trouble putting the projects down. Celebrations, also has coordinating rub ons which I am looking forward to using on my next project. Stay tuned for further posts using this DSP.
